“Being a part of a project that gave me a chance to explore myself and my passions is what i believe ‘education’ really means” is what one young person had to say about the course, aswell as saying this they also said “its been a powerful and enlightening journey!”
During January to March 2016, @ the Belve Community Centre, Capoeira for All worked with a small group of 8 young people with the goal of developing them and therefore their outlook, and chances, of employability. Capoeira for All partnered with LHT to deliver an Inclusive Personal Development and Employability project for NEET young people between the ages of 16-24, who needed an opportunity to move towards readiness for employment, self-employment or further training or education. Using the values and ethos of Capoeira as a basis for personal development, we worked to motivate and inspire the young people we worked with so they could take themselves forward. From this project 100% of the young people went onto employment, education or training. One of the young people even progressed into the role of apprentice for us, Capoeira for All.
